ExploRNA, Łukasiewicz Research Network Partner on GMP Manufacturing of Next-Gen mRNA Cap Analogs

Łukasiewicz, known for advanced chemical synthesis and production scaling capabilities, will help ExploRNA ramp up its mRNA manufacturing.

Editor’s Take: Demand for high-quality, scalable components is growing rapidly as mRNA technology continues to change the biopharma landscape.

ExploRNA Therapeutics and the Łukasiewicz Research Network—Industrial Chemistry Institute (Łukasiewicz—IChP) announced a new strategic partnership. The collaboration involves delivering ExploRNA’s proprietary cap analogs, including the company’s AvantCap Q1 technology, in good manufacturing practice (GMP) quality.

Importance of mRNA

As a biotechnology company specializing in novel messenger RNA (mRNA) capping technologies, ExploRNA says this secures essential raw material supply. From this partnership, ExploRNA anticipates producing clinical-stage mRNA therapeutics and vaccines.

This is crucial because as mRNA technology continues to impact the biopharmaceutical landscape, demand for high-quality, scalable component is growing.

How Łukasiewicz Helps

According to ExploRNA, co-transcriptional capping is critical to mRNA manufacturing. It directly affects yield, quality, and translation efficiency of the final drug product. In this way, Łukasiewicz—IChP will help as it is known for advanced chemical synthesis and production scaling capabilities.

“This collaboration with Łukasiewicz—IChP marks a critical milestone in our growth trajectory,” ExploRNA CEO Jacek Jemielity said. “Securing a reliable, high-quality GMP manufacturing partner is an important development step for ExploRNA.”

Jemielity adds the partnership validates the scalability of ExploRNA’s synthesis processes, while ensuring proprietary innovations transition from lab to clinic.

ExploRNA Looks Ahead

Ultimately, ExploRNA wants to provide industry partners with premium-grade cap analog access, necessary to advance clinical programs and commercial pipelines. For the advancement of the company’s own commercial strategy, then, it says production of GMP-grade materials is critical.

In short, ExploRNA hopes to support biotech and pharma developers from early-stage research, to late-stage clinical trials, then full-scale commercialization.
